CAMPBELL, Calif., August 27, 2019 – Xue Ge (XG), the Chinese womenswear company, has selected Centric Software’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution. Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to fashion, retail, footwear, outdoor, luxury and consumer goods companies to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.
Founded in 1997 in Wenzhou, China, XG is a branded ladies apparel business that is engaged in the design, production and retail of womenswear for the 28-45 age bracket. XG has around 1,500 employees and just under 800 stores and counters in major and medium-sized Chinese cities.
Xie Zhenhua, CIO of XG, explains that the company decided to invest in an apparel PLM to drive their digitalization strategy.
“We have established systematic tools for production, logistics and finance. However, we have yet to implement a digitalized management tool for the core of our operations – the design center. Currently, the design center has to search for information in different systems and conduct large amounts of offline research and analysis, which takes time and makes accurate product R&D challenging.”
“Externally, the advent of 5G may change how consumers shop and the business scenario for brands in the future. Fashion enterprises need digitalized tools to align the supply of products with the demand from customers.”
After a diligent selection process, XG was won over by Centric’s complete solutions and rich experience providing solutions for the Chinese apparel market.
“We aim to build a customer-centric digitalized product management platform that equips us with competitive opportunities for future development,” says Zhu Jing, Deputy General Manager of XG. “Centric 8 PLM allows more precise R&D with a unified, consistent and standardized database of accumulated product knowledge. With Centric Apparel PLM, we can manage multiple R&D models to realize order-based production more efficiently and achieve faster turnaround, boosting turnover. Centric’s costing features ensures that product development aligns with financial goals.”
Xu Zhiyong, General Manager of XG, adds, “PLM is not just a tool, but a competitive advantage. Centric’s advanced industry practices and disruptive technology is key to building a digital platform to rejuvenate the brand.”
“We are very happy that XG has selected Centric PLM,” says Chris Groves, President and CEO of Centric Software. “XG is pursuing a bold digital strategy to future-proof the business, and we are proud to be at the heart of this transformation.”
